Welcome to Bethesda Real Estate news, everyone.

I’m Larry Gibbons, president of The Gibbons Group, bringing you Bethesda Real Estate news for the week of February 9th, 2020, to February 16th, 2020.

And, woo, boy, we are cookin’ with gas, already! Who says that spring doesn’t come in February? We had 34 new listings this week. In comparison, we’ve been averaging about 17 new listings each week, this year. We had 22 closings. The last time that we had a week like this was February of 2016. And if you aren’t aware, February of 2016 kicked off one of the best years that we’ve ever had in real estate, in our area. So very exciting stuff.

Of the 22 closings, we had 13 detached houses, ranging from 3.175 million to 775 thousand, as price ranges. We had two townhouses, and we had 7 condos. The two properties that I wanna highlight, of the closings, are 5402 Goldsboro Road. This house sold for 3.175 million in one day. The other property I wanna highlight is 6609 Brookville Road. Property sold for $1.65 million.

Breaking Purple Line news:

it is official that they were originally planning for all 22 stops to be open in the summer of 2022, they have now changed that, in that the 16 stops, from New Carrollton Metro, to College Park will be open in the summer or fall of 2022; however, the stops from College Park to Bethesda will not open until June of 2023.
